At Health Sciences North, we believe in providing the best quality care to our patients. We strive to achieve the highest standards of care by focusing on continuous quality improvement work. The Accreditation process allows us to measure our care standards against world-class standards. This process is an essential part of ensuring that the care that HSN provides to patients meets or exceeds national standards and encourages continuous improvement.

Accreditation Canada

Accreditation with Commendation Seal

In 2015, HSN received Accreditation with Commendation - the second highest designation from Accreditation Canada. This designation is awarded to organizations that go beyond the requirements for Accreditation Canada and who are committed to quality improvement.

Accreditation Canada is an independent organization that sets standards for quality and safety in health care and accredits health organization in Canada and around the world.

As the timeline below illustrates, HSN is preparing for an Accreditation surveyors' visit in June 2019.  The Accreditation four-year cycle includes an employee Quality Worklife Survey every two years, to validate the things we are doing well,  and where we need to focus our improvement efforts.
