Important information on COVID-19 / Renseignements importants sur la COVID-19!

We are asking all patients and visitors coming to HSN to please wear a mask as an added step to reduce the spread of germs and protect vulnerable patients. Handmade masks are acceptable as are those available at retailers in our community. Patients will still be seen in our Emergency Department, regardless if they are wearing a mask. Patients going for a procedure where they must remove their mask will be asked to store it with their personal items.

Before coming to the hospital, please check our COVID-19 info page for updates.

Students & Medical Learners

Learners

Health Sciences North (HSN) supports the education of Students and Medical Learners through enriching secondary and post-secondary school placements, internships, residencies and fellowships.

During your visit to the hospital, you will be seen by a team of health care professionals, some of which may be in-training. Individuals in-training will identify themselves to you as students, learners or medical residents. Working under the close supervision of hospital staff and attending physicians, they play an important role in the care and treatment of you and your family. Do not hesitate to ask them questions about their role in your care.

Placement opportunities will also depend on whether the departments have the capacity to accommodate.

The gradual return will be reviewed again in October/November for January 2021.

Should you have students that meet the criteria, please complete the placement request via  https://www.surveymonkey.com/r/G7W6BS2 .
