We are asking all patients and visitors coming to HSN to please wear a mask as an added step to reduce the spread of germs and protect vulnerable patients. Handmade masks are acceptable as are those available at retailers in our community. Patients going for a procedure where they must remove their mask will be asked to store it with their personal items. If you arrive at the hospital as a patient or care partner and do not have a mask, one will be provided to you and you will be expected to wear it during your time at HSN to keep yourself, other patients and care partners and our staff, physicians, learners and volunteers safe.

SUDBURY, ON – Health Sciences North is clarifying some misinformation that’s been circulating in the community the past few weeks regarding the Breast Screening Assessment Clinic of Health Sciences North (HSN), located at the Sudbury Outpatient Centre. In some cases, there were suggestions the future of this clinic was in limbo, or that the clinic was closing.

Research is improving care at HSN

SUDBURY, ON – Health Sciences North Research Institute (HSNRI) and Health Sciences North (HSN) received a boost from the Northern Ontario Academic Medical Association (NOAMA) to implement new advancements in clinical care.  Physicians have partnered with HSNRI scientists to receive over $700,000 from two of the NOAMA research funds, Alternative Funding Plan (AFP) Innovation Fund, and Clinical Innovation Opportunities Fund.
