Donate to Research

The Health Sciences North Research Institute is generously supported by the Northern Cancer Foundation, Health Sciences North Foundation, NEO Kids Foundation and the Health Sciences North Volunteer Association.

If you choose to donate to a specific area of research through one of our foundations, please remember to indicate that your funds are for HSNRI.

For our cancer research program please direct your donations to the Northern Cancer Foundation. For other research programs such as vaccine or chronic disease, please direct your donations to the Health Sciences North Foundation. For children’s health research, please direct your donations to the NEO Kids Foundation. The Health Sciences North Volunteer Association generously supports HSNRI through revenues generated by the boutique, lottery centre and Tim Horton’s locations at Health Sciences North.

If you have any questions about donating to HSNRI please contact or (705) 523-7300.

Major Gifts

Major gifts are vital to supporting the goals of HSNRI and realizing our vision for the future. Major donors are those committed supporters who make gifts of $10,000 or more in support of research fellowships and Chairs, or significant capital and equipment needs. In doing so, donors have the chance to make an immeasurable difference.

A permanent endowment gift is made in perpetuity and the interest earned ensures a flow of funding year after year. An endowment may be funded with an initial gift of $50,000 or more and increased throughout your lifetime by you, your family or friends, or through your estate. You may name an endowment in your own name or to honour a loved one.

Special Events

Special events raise funds while promoting the importance of health research for northeastern Ontario. Please contact one of our Foundations or Volunteer Association if you would like to hold an event to support HSNRI.
