We are asking all patients and visitors coming to HSN to please wear a mask as an added step to reduce the spread of germs and protect vulnerable patients. Handmade masks are acceptable as are those available at retailers in our community. Patients going for a procedure where they must remove their mask will be asked to store it with their personal items. If you arrive at the hospital as a patient or care partner and do not have a mask, one will be provided to you and you will be expected to wear it during your time at HSN to keep yourself, other patients and care partners and our staff, physicians, learners and volunteers safe.

It is my pleasure to wecome you to our Health Sciences North/Horizon Santé-Nord, (HSN) Cardiac Pulmonary Rehabilitation Program Website.

The website is designed to give you and your family a comprehensive overview of the services and educational opportunities available to you and your family within our program. It is also intended to provided clients in our catchement area, who find it difficult to access our on site services, with valuable educational material and information.The program is based on a scientifically proven and medically supervised course of exercise, education and lifestyle modification aimed at providing patients with the information, motivation and support they need to adopt and maintain heart-healthy habits

Cardiac Pulmonary Rehabilitation teaches patients and families about their disease and how to cope with its physical and psychological symptoms. Programs are available to help patients stop smoking, lower high blood pressure, cholesterol, and reduce emotional stress. Programs are also available to help spouses and family members better accept changes that an acute cardiac event brings. The program is at no cost to you provided there is a referral from your physician or nurse practitioner. Cardiac Pulmonary Rehabilitation monitors and improves the recovery, increases fitness, and reduces the risk of further cardiac problems. These goals are accomplished through the multidisciplinary efforts of Nurses, Physicians, Nurse Practitioners, Physiotherapists, Kinesiologists, Psychological Associates, Dieticians, Certified Respiratory Educators, and Certified Clinical Exercise Exercise Physiologists (ACSM).
