WE PROVIDE - specialized, outpatient health-care to those living with HIV and affected by HIV in northeastern Ontario. WE PROMOTE - early treatment and care so that people with HIV can live healthy and active lives for as long as possible. WE ASSIST - you, your family and your caregivers to become informed about HIV so that you can receive care as close to home as possible. WE BELIEVE THAT. . . HIV does not discriminate. It can infect anyone. It can affect anyone. Therefore, care is provided to each person regardless of nationality, race, creed, colour, sexual orientation, political belief, or socio-economic status. HIV affects the body, mind and spirit. Therefore, each person is recognized as a unique individual and care is provided to improve physical, emotional, spiritual and social health. HIV can be treated and managed for a prolonged period of time. Many people with HIV are leading full and active lives. As each year passes, new and more effective treatments are available to slowdown HIV and treat complications that may arise. Each person has the right to make informed decisions about their care. Each person must be allowed to live and die with respect and dignity. HIV impacts not only the person living with HIV, but also his/her "family", friend and community. Therefore, care is also provided to hose who are "affected" by HIV.
Early treatment and care will help you live a more active, healthy life...
