Multidisciplinary Cancer Conferences (MCCs) are regularly scheduled meetings where healthcare providers discuss the diagnosis and treatment of individual cancer patients. The intent of the MCC is to prospectively review individual cancer patients and make recommendations on best management, keeping in mind that individual physicians are responsible for making the ultimate treatment decision. Health Sciences North (HSN) hosts MCC sessions in 13 disease sites
All of the MCC sessions, with the exception of Head and Neck use videoconferencing to allow other hospitals within our LHIN to participate. Videoconferencing also allows us to bring in experts from other hospitals outside our LHIN for presentations and opinions/advice on oncology cases. If you would like to join the session via video/teleconference from a site other than Health Sciences North, please contact Karen Teddy at (705) 522-6237 for connection information.
Patient cases can be submitted by health care professionals for discussion at a case conference. No patients are to be present at these events. Only health care professionals are to be present.
